Hi, I’m Ariane, also known as C. A. Saltoris, the founder of Halls in The Forest and its humble host.
I write fiction for a living, mostly gruesome ones because I am that kind of gal; but I am also a loving mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend (who usually doesn’t pick up the phone because of anxiety, but always gets back on text), a wife, a ferocious reader, a journalist, a trained actress, a theater director, a geek, a hobby baker, and one million other things; just like you.
I was born in Rio de Janeiro and have been living in Germany for nearly half my life now.
The World of Magic & Me
I write Fantasy and have been living inside my fantastic worlds since I can think. As a child, I used to write poems to the moon (yeah, pretty weird, I know), and wait for Falkor to come to pick me up and take me to Fantasia. When I was little, my great-grandaunt Nora, used to gather us, children, around her and tell us folk tales. Oh, how I loved it! Stories about magical creatures and the jungle, about ghosts and spirits. One can say that folk tales and I go back a long way.
I became a fiction writer and brought all that magic and poetry to my work. As I grew older, I realized that these stories, those like my aunt used to tell me, no longer play a role in our lives. How sad! How could we?
By talking to fellow writers and, of course, my readers, I learned that a lot more people felt sad about it too.
Since I have a long history of creating magical stuff for YouTube, I decided that this was a project I wanted to devote myself to. I want to entertain you with stories you haven’t heard yet and help raise awareness of our forests’ situation–as well as unite us more by going into the culture and flashing light on their identity.
